Getting Started Guide
Available Threads Listing
When you open easythreads™, on the left you will see a Brand drop down,
which allows you to change the brand of threads that are displayed.
Below that you will see a listing of color swatches, the number and the
name of the threads for the brand that is selected. By selecting a
different Brand from the drop down, you can see the available threads of threads
for that brand.

Thread Charts
Then if you look to the right you will see a blank Thread Chart. You can put
your threads for a design into the blank Thread Chart, or you can open an
existing Thread Chart.
Adding a color to a Thread Chart, My Inventory, and My Favorites
You can insert a new color into a Thread Chart, My Inventory, and My Favorites
with any one of four different ways.
You can type the color number in the Find box and press enter
You can double click on the color swatch
You can select the color swatch and drag it onto the Thread Chart
You can select the color swatch and click on the "Add Thread To Chart" button

Converting
Once you have at least one thread in the Thread Chart, you can convert. Either
choose Tools, then Convert from the menu or move your mouse to anywhere in the
Thread Chart area, right click and select "Convert...". A window will open that
looks like this:

There are many options to convert threads.
Select
You can convert all the threads in the Thread Chart, you can convert only those
you have selected.
Inventory
You can limit the thread matches returned by only what you have in your
inventory, or by all the threads in the thread database.
Use My Favorites First
If you have threads in My Favorites, you can select to look at those threads
for matches first before looking in the thread database.
Thread Brands:
You can also select the brand of thread that you would like the system to
convert to.
Remember My Settings
You can have the system remember your settings so you don't have to keep selecting
the same settings each time. Just check the Remember My Settings check box.
Once you make your selections and click on OK, the program will convert the
appropriate threads to their best matches.
More
If you would like more choices, click on the "More >>" button, and the form
will expand to show you more choices.

Thread Brands
Now you have more choices for Thread Brands, such as the Type, Weight and Spool
Size.
Threads
You can select a Color Family for the system to limit the matches to.
Matching
You can set the Matching Percentage and the Maximum number of matches right here,
instead of having to go to the Preferences to set them.
Inventory
Here you can select specific Inventory lists for the system to use
when converting or showing matches. You can also select to have the
system use the thread that is in the source column if it is in any
Inventory list. This way, if you already have the thread on hand, it
will put that thread in the Match column.
Favorites
Here you can select specific Favorites lists for the system to use first
when converting or showing matches.
Show Matches
You can quickly see all the colors in all the Brands that match the thread you
have selected. Select a row in the Thread Chart, My Inventory Chart, My
Favorites Chart or even from the Available Threads list, right click and select
"Show Matches...". A screen like this will appear:

It also shows you the percentage of likeness the thread is, for example, a
thread might be 99.50% match, which means there is only a half percentage
difference between the thread colors, which is a pretty close match.
View Swatches
If you want to really see a close up of the thread swatches and their matches,
simply right click on a row in a thread chart and select View Swatches. This
will show you both the thread color and it's match, if one exists, side by side
with large swatches.

My Inventory
You can enter all of your threads that you have purchased into easythreads™,
and when you see any matches, you can quickly see whether you have that thread
in your inventory or not. You can also specify to only convert to those threads
you have in your inventory.
My Favorites
If you have particular threads that you always use when converting, then you
can enter these in My Favorites. When you convert your list of threads, you can
select to "Use My Favorites First", and easythreads™ will always use
your matches, rather than the ones it comes up with. If you would like to see
the threads easythreads™ would have chosen, you can always select the
row in the Thread Chart with that color, right click and select "Show Matches".
Preferences
You can customize easythreads™ to the way you like it, with options like
open the last Thread Chart(s) you had opened when you last closed the program. easythreads™
can remember the size and placement of your windows. It can also remember which
Brand you like to see first, and you can limit the Brands you see in the
program. You can also enhance the performance of the conversions and matches by
designating the matching percentage and the number of matches to display.
